Oil and petroleum products such as bitumen are the best-selling products in world markets that have a significant impact on the economic and political trends of countries.

Dry bitumen: It is a black and pasty material that is used in moisture insulation and asphalt making. There are different types of bitumen, each of which has a specific usage. Dry bitumen is an oil derivative and is often produced in oil refineries. Bitumen is a black to dark brown hydrocarbon that is completely soluble in carbon sulfide and carbon tetrachloride. It is solid at ambient temperature but as the temperature rises, it becomes a paste and then liquefies. The important use of bitumen is due to the existence of two important properties of this material.

Dry bitumen is commonly used in two areas of road construction and insulation.

About 90% of the bitumen produced is used in road construction, and insulation costs account for only 10% of bitumen consumption.

60/70 bitumen: It is a bitumen that is obtained by performing oxidation process on vacuum baton (raw material of bitumen production which is taken from the bottom of distillation tower in vacuum of oil refineries) in bitumen production units so that the degree its permeability (a test to determine the hardness of bitumen) is between 60 and 70.

The main application of this type of product is for road construction for humid regions.
